I am a Lacanian in training to practice psychoanalysis based in Vancouver, B.C, unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I am currently working towards my RCC in B.C., Canada. I will post contact information when I start taking clients in Private Practice. Anticipated start is early 2028.
I also have an M.F.A in visual art completed at UBC in 2017, where I honed my conceptual art practice and became a writer on culture, gender, art, politics, and spirit. My psychoanalytic thinking is inspired by the work of Jacques Lacan, Willy Apollon, Sigmund Freud, Lucie Cantin, and Danielle Bergeron.
Although I work from an artistic-practitioner model (my practice is based in the liberal arts), the scientists I am influenced by are sociologists Nikolas and Diana Rose (Politics and history of Psy professions, User-Led Research and Mad Studies), Neuroscientist Max Bennett, the late Microphysicist Evelyn Fox Keller for (epi)genetics and feminist science, Psychologist Heidi Keller for attachment studies, and critical social psychologists more generally.
I am interested in what makes us all Outliers (outliers are data points outside of norms), what makes us singular, and, rather than eliminating that difference as is done in statistical/psychological inquiries, my practice of psychoanalysis seeks to nurture singularity. My practice will be named “Outlier”, in honour of the difference of each human spirit.
